Leafy green philanthropy

And the donation season begins!  MG Intern Robin Ritterhoff pushes a wheelbarrow full of mustard, kale, and pak choi through the Derwood Demo Garden, on its way to being bagged up and delivered to Manna Food Center.

We hope this will be a better year for donations.  Last year we had so much insect, disease and weather damage that very little produce made it out of the garden intact.  Also, we grew so many different (and unusual) plants that quantities of any one crop were small (the MGs take home the paltry and unexpected, as well as some of the predictable and bountiful).  This year, we hope for tons of beans and more zucchini than we can handle.  Both are starting to appear.
