Braided garlic

For the fun and to store my garlic easily, I braid them. At home we grow a softneck type. They are mild-flavored rose colored cloves, garlic bulbs bought from a reputable seed retailer. We chose this variety for the storage life (9-10 months and sometime more…) and their ability to be braided.

I don’t do anything fancy, I just follow these quick steps after the garlic has been harvested and cured for 2 weeks. For easy braiding I softened the stems by placing them between two damp towels for few minutes before starting.
